BLEAK PEACH RECORDS PRESENTS

• sofium - 'Stare'

RIYL / FOR FANS OF:
Florence + The Machine, Flowerovlove, Balu Brigada, Lorde, Remi Wolf

For years, singer-songwriter Sophia McCrea experienced the music industry from behind the scenes, coordinating logistics and touring for other artists while assuming her own window to perform had passed. Encouraged by longtime collaborator Jonah Mutono to step out from behind the curtain, she began shaping sofium—a sonic world blending the moody atmosphere of 90s cinema, alternative pop melodies, and lush electronic production. Her debut single, "Stare," pairs dreamy alt-pop arrangement with an intimate vocal performance. Written after overhearing conversations in North Hollywood cafes, the track explores the quiet compromises made to remain in spaces that no longer serve you.

"It’s about those relationships you know you should quit, but instead you find every excuse to stay, trying to reshape yourself to fit in," Sophia explains.

'Stare' marks the inaugural release on boutique imprint Bleak Peach Records and serves as the lead single from her forthcoming debut 5-track EP, 'No Art,' arriving February 2027.
